OFS Construction & Plumbing shops...install a large diameter water line for the new 5 million gallon water tank by the NMSU golf course.
OFS Utilities is responsible for all utilities used on campus from chilled water to steam. Whether generated or purchased, we are diligent in using NMSU energy dollars wisely. OFS engineers constantly watch utility prices and consumption to ensure our campus is running as efficiently as possible. We make every attempt to keep each building comfortable yet efficient.
The Office of Facilities and Services (OFS) began as the Physical Plant Department (PPD). Since then, OFS Utilities have come a long way. More and more work on campus is being done "in-house" by our own highly trained staff. This not only saves precious funding but instills a sense of pride in our employees. The OFS Utilities Division is divided into several areas.
You Can Help
It takes a concerted effort to save energy. We depend on the campus community to do its share in energy conservation. While week-end and holiday temperature set-backs offer some relief, we still need your help.
- Turn off lights when not needed
- Reduce the temperature on your thermostats before you go home
- On cool days wear a sweater.
If everyone does the small things it will add up to big savings.
